Bioscience Impact Team

The University of Cambridge and Babraham Institute held a joint workshop on Impact funded by their BBSRC Impact Acceleration Accounts.  This full-day interactive workshop aimed to give early-stage researchers the knowledge and skills they need to generate impact from their work.

The workshop heard from a range of diverse and interesting speakers after a welcome by the Head of the School of Biological Sciences, Abby Fowden, and the Head of the Babraham Institute, Michael Wakelam.  We then had an interesting panel Q and A session.

After lunch we split into parallel groups to focus on generating impact through commercialisation, policy or public engagement.  Delegates had the chance to go to two of these parallel sessions before being rewarded with wine and nibbles.

Feedback after the event revealed that researchers left the event with an increased awareness and knowledge of the steps they could take to increase their impact.
